*The University of Southampton is home to the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Co-ordinating Centre (NETSCC) which was established in April 2008. NETSCC is overseeing a growing number of programmes, including the NIHR Health Technology Assessment programme, that are managed on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The Centre was created to meet challenges arising from the national research strategy Best Research for Best Health and the Government's decision to increase the joint health research fund to £1.7 billion by 2010. This is an exciting time for NETSCC, with rapid expansion of current research programmes as well as establishing and taking on new programmes. For this reason we are recruiting to a significant number of new posts over a period extending to late 2009.
